This systematic review examines the use of motivational interview techniques (MIT) in intervention programs for perpetrators of intimate partner violence (IPV). The review assesses the impact of MIT on attendance rates, treatment adherence, motivation for change, and behavioural and attitudinal outcomes. Drawing on 15 studies meeting the inclusion criteria, the findings indicate that MIT is particularly effective for individuals with low readiness to change, helping to increase engagement in treatment programs and reduce recidivism. The analysis highlights variations in program implementation, the role of MIT in improving intervention outcomes, and its integration with other therapeutic approaches such as cognitive-behavioural therapy and psychoeducational models. The review underscores the need for further research to standardise MIT applications within batterer intervention programs.en_US
