This systematic synthesis of qualitative studies explores male intimate partner violence (IPV) perpetrators’ perspectives on intervention and change. Drawing from a review of existing literature, the study identifies key themes in perpetrators’ experiences of intervention programs, including motivations for engagement, barriers to change, and the role of external accountability mechanisms. Findings highlight that while some men internalise intervention goals and seek behaviour change, others remain resistant, citing external pressures as their primary motivation. The study underscores the need for tailored interventions that consider individual pathways to desistance and the role of support systems in sustaining long-term behaviour change.en_US
