This study examines the desistance process in intimate partner violence through qualitative analysis of the life histories of 13 male perpetrators. Using semi-structured interviews and a life course perspective, the research identifies an eight-step exit process from violence, including relational history, attribution of responsibility, and development of strategies to cease violence. Findings suggest two distinct desistance pathways and highlight the need for justice and therapeutic interventions tailored to perpetrators’ trajectories. The study underscores the importance of adjusting intervention strategies to support desistance and long-term behaviour change.en_US
