Abstract:  The National Plan to End Violence Against Women and Children 2022–2032 outlines a coordinated policy framework to address gender-based violence in Australia over the next decade. Developed by the Australian Government in collaboration with state and territory governments, the plan sets out a vision to end violence in one generation through a four-pillared approach: prevention, early intervention, response, and recovery and healing. It emphasises the importance of addressing structural drivers of violence, including gender inequality and intersecting forms of discrimination, and incorporates the voices of victim-survivors in shaping policy solutions. The plan also acknowledges the need for a standalone First Nations National Plan and prioritises improved service integration, data collection, and accountability mechanisms. Key focus areas include strengthening legal responses, advancing gender equality, and expanding specialist support services.
