ANROWS research project RP.14.04 - Seeking help for domestic violence: exploring rural women's coping experiences

The research project Seeking help for domestic and family violence: Exploring regional, rural, and remote women's coping experiences was conducted in South Australia (Mount Gambier, Riverland, Whyalla, Murray Bridge) and Western Australia (Derby) from 2015-2016.

Face-to-face interviews were held with 23 women (6 Aboriginal women from Derby and 17 non-Aboriginal women from South Australia) and focus groups with 37 domestic and family violence service managers and practitioners across South Australia and Western Australia.

The project explored women's experiences of coping with and seeking help for domestic and
family violence and experiences of isolation.
