Notes:	Describes some key welfare reforms that have taken place in the United States in recent years aimed at improving women’s employment opportunities and socio-economic status, and reviews existing research into the link between domestic violence and women’s work. Key themes emerging from studies conducted and gaps in existing research are identified and the need for future research, practice and policy to take into account both individual and societal/contextual factors is suggested.
