Notes:  Provides a response from the NSW Strategy to Reduce Violence Against Women to Margot Rawsthorne’s article (in the previous ADFVC Newsletter) that criticises two educational resources: the ‘Date Rape Awareness Cube’ and the ‘Sex/Violence/Consent’ smart card. The authors argue that, contrary to Rawsthorne’s assessment, ‘the cube’ was the result of research developed by the Regional Violence Prevention Specialists (RVPS). It is specified that the cube is not intended to be used as a stand-alone resource, but as a tool to stimulate the interest of young people and facilitate discussion. The use of the cube was being evaluated when this response was written. Initial findings show that the cube has been a popular instrument.
