Notes:	This article examines the factors connected with suicide ideation in the New Zealand female population who have experienced intimate partner violence (IPV). Face-to-face interviews with 956 women were conducted in Auckland and Waikato using a model of the World Health Organization’s “Multi-country Study on Women’s Health and Domestic Violence against Women” questionnaire. The interviewees were selected using a population-based cluster sampling method. The authors are able to conclude that, in common with other international studies, suicide ideation is strongly associated with IPV among New Zealand women. Factors which increased this association include: * women had experienced a stillbirth/miscarriage/termination
