Notes:  Responding to criticisms directed at the author's use of the Millon Clinical Multiaxial Inventory (MCMI) in a previous study, this article outlines some of the key disadvantages of using the MCMI, including its adoption of an 'abusive personality' category and its capacity to encourage under-reporting. Goes on to answer some of these criticisms on the basis of the findings of the study and attachment theory.
