Abstract:  This report documents findings from the National Community Attitudes towards Violence against Women Survey (NCAS) and considers them in the context of
other related research. It focuses on results for the community as a whole. It has been written for an audience interested in greater detail about the concepts measured in the survey, survey findings and implications for policy, program development and practice.

It is one of a suite of resources being produced by ANROWS that draws on data from the 2017 NCAS. The suite includes a high level summary of this report,
and is available on the ANROWS website ncas.anrows.org.au.

Separate reports for the samples of Aboriginal people and Torres Strait Islanders, people from non-English speaking backgrounds and young people (aged 16-24 years) will be available on the ANROWS website, along with other relevant resources.

This report also includes, in summary form, the methodologies used for redevelopment of the 2013 questionnaire and the collection and analysis of data.
Greater detail on the methods used can be found in National Community Attitudes towards Violence against Women Survey Methodology Report: Survey Redevelopment and Implementation 2017-18 on the ANROWS website.
