Notes:  This report presents data for the period 1 July 2002 through 30 June 2012 and provides an update to the 2003 report (Mouzos & Rushforth) on characteristics of domestic/family homicide based on the differing family relationships between victims and offenders. The data described in this paper are drawn from the AIC's NHMP which includes data collected from all state and territory police services regarding murders and manslaughters in each jurisdiction (excluding culpable driving causing death), as well as information collected from the National Coronial Information System (NCIS).
