Notes:  “The response to the Inquiry into response by government agencies to complaints of family violence and child abuse in Aboriginal communities”

“November 2002”
This 2002 action plan by the Western Australian (WA) government responds to the findings and recommendations of the WA Inquiry into the response by government agencies to complaints of family violence and child abuse in Aboriginal communities (the Gordon Inquiry). The Gordon Inquiry was prompted by a Coronial Inquest into the death of 15 year old Susan Taylor at the Swan Valley Noongar Community in Lockridge in 1999.

The action plan sets out the WA government’s responses to the Gordon Inquiry, and also provides responses from individual government agencies, including the police service, health, education, justice and community development.
