Notes:  This report provides a summary of a project undertaken by the author under the 2009 Churchill Fellowship to study programs in the US, Canada and the United Kingdom (UK) which help women whose parenting has been compromised by domestic violence.

Alchin provides details of the visits she made while overseas to various hospitals, children's recovery services and to the American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children – Conference (APSAC) in New Orleans.

* visit to the SACCS (Sexual Abuse Child Consultancy Services) Recovery programme in the UK, a private service that provides intensive comprehensive residential, educational and therapeutic care for children over a period of three years.
Alchin includes recommendations for application both Australia-wide and specific to the Australian Capital Territory.
