Notes:	This document is the first progress report to be released since the 2011 publication of the National plan to reduce violence against women and their children : including the first three-year action plan:which sets out Australia’s national framework for whole-of-government actions to reduce violence against women and children from 2010 to 2022. The plan specifically targets violence against women, including domestic and family violence and sexual assault, through six outcomes. * establishment of 1800RESPECT, the National Sexual Assault, Domestic and Family Violence Counselling Service * assisting perpetrators to change their behaviour through perpetrator intervention programs being run in New South Wales, Northern Territory and South Australia * introducing programs across Australia which help women experiencing domestic violence to stay in their homes while the perpetrator leaves, such as, Staying Home, Leaving Violence:in New South Wales and Safe at home:in Tasmania.
