Notes:  This report details the findings of the second GVLDVS evaluation which aimed to explore the impact of the service on women and children, living in the Liverpool LGA in western Sydney, who have experienced domestic violence. The evaluation found outcomes for women and children included: an improved sense of emotional and social wellbeing; decreased isolation and a new sense of connectedness; overcoming the effects of domestic violence on children; feeling safe and starting a new life. The evaluation also found the GVLDVS facilitated an effective coordinated response which included working in partnership with other services and agencies, a client focused collaborative practice and an interagency focus on community development, education and training. One area of improvement identified was to improve relationships with the Aboriginal community in the Liverpool area and to create opportunities to work with Aboriginal clients.
