The report is based on a study involving twelve specialised refuge services in Australia, England and Scotland which provide services for women with specialised needs. The study focused on the intersection of mental illness, drug and alcohol abuse, and family violence. The report includes case studies from domestic violence and mental health support workers. These case studies outline different programs and approaches to the provision of specialised therapeutic services. The study concludes with practical recommendations to enhance the accessibility of services for women with specialised needs who have been the victim of domestic violence.
