Notes:  This paper documents the findings of a survey conducted in California (US) of over a thousand convicted domestic violence offenders. The men surveyed were enrolled in compulsory treatment programs called Batterer Intervention Programs (BIPs) across the five jurisdictions in California. The research highlights the challenges of interpreting the outcomes of such programs given jurisdictional differences and variability across BIPs.
