Notes:  This report presents findings from a study conducted in England and Wales to examine differences in attitudes about and experiences of rural and urban violence against women. The study used focus groups, 20 in-depth interviews and a survey completed by more than 4000 women. The areas of interest in the study included differences in women’s attitudes about violence, demographics and socio-economic status, prevalence, types of violence, help-seeking and access and availability of services.
