The research involved interviews with clients and staff at the Mornington Peninsula Domestic Violence Service in Victoria, as well as consultations with service providers and a review of the Australian and international literature. The research revealed that most policies and programs focus on short term crisis-support, resulting in a policy gap regarding the long-term needs of women and children.
