Notes:	Overview: In 2010, the Domestic Violence Sub-group of the UK Taskforce on the Health Aspects of Violence Against Women and Children produced this report evaluating the significant gaps in the British National Health Service [NHS] responses to violence against women and children. In the report, the Taskforce discusses what needs to be addressed by this service and the actions to be undertaken in order that family and partner violence are adequately addressed. Discussion: The report discusses initiatives that the NHS needs to undertake to provide high-quality care, early intervention and evidence based practice to those who are suffering from domestic violence. The report makes twenty-three recommendations. Most notably these include: an increase in skills, training and awareness education for NHS staff; working in partnership with other sectors and agencies; and using other successful NHS initiatives such as the high-quality diabetes and stroke services as a yardstick to gauge the quality of domestic violence services.
