Notes:	Overview: This paper presents an overview of the extent and nature of domestic violence as experienced by older women, with particular reference to women in the UK. It draws extensively on surveys and research conducted both in the UK and internationally, including the US and Australia. The report ends with a series of general suggestions for all agencies and also gives a number of recommendations for health and social care services. These include increasing awareness leading to proactive interventions, training on how to confront the problem and establishing policies and procedures to ensure a co-ordination of services and interventions between adult protection and domestic violence agencies.
