The practice issues are addressed: overlap between child maltreatment and domestic violence; modifying child protection practice with families experiencing domestic violence; improving caseworker safety; and building collaborative responses. It is structured into 6 chapters, together with a list appendices (resources of US national organisations; outline of stages of change and relevant corresponding caseworker’s action; domestic violence assessment for the victim; for the child; for the perpetrator; safety planning; and what is a memorandum of understanding and how to develop one).
