Reports the aims, methodology and recommendations of the ACON Housing project, a Supported Accommodation Assistance Program (SAAP)-funded initiative directed at identifying the housing needs and concerns of people escaping and/or experiencing same-sex domestic violence, highlighting gaps in current service provision in NSW and promoting the development of more effective, integrated and collaborative responses to the issue. A review of current literature pertaining to same-sex domestic violence, its prevalence and the link between domestic violence and homelessness is conducted and existing programmes run under the SAAP are described. Specific housing and accommodation options open to victims of same-sex domestic violence are also outlined. The report concludes by summarising the structure, aims, presentations and findings of the Same Sex Domestic Violence, Homelessness and SAAP Forum:and highlighting key themes that emerged from the focus groups conducted and case studies contributed.
