This report provides information about the experiences of interpersonal violence of adults living in South Australia. The data were obtained through a telephone survey implemented by the Social, Environmental and Risk Context Information System (SERCIS). The study investigated diverse types of violence in both a domestic and non-domestic situation, child abuse, and elder abuse. The figures show that 30 per cent of the South Australian community had experienced some form of violence at some time. Domestic violence was experienced by 23 per cent of the females and 12 per cent of the males. Around eight per cent of adults reported physical assault incidents and five per cent sexual assault experiences. Child abuse and/or neglect were reported in nine per cent of the interviews. Less than one percent of the respondents aged over 65 years reported elder abuse.
