| Notes: | This report summarises a study that used Yarnin' research to explore inner-city Aboriginal women's views on violence and abuse. The report includes an overview of Yarnin' research as a form of participatory action research, using Aboriginal communication styles to give voice to Aboriginal women and guiding researchers to utilise listening and reflection skills. Through the Mudgin-Gal Aboriginal Women's Corporation the researchers conducted workshops with Aboriginal women to explore how violence is defined, different types of violence, the tipping point in deciding to make a change, and healing journey training. The report also includes a proposed Indigenous researchers training program for discussion. |
