Notes:	Overview: The report details the "Looking After Me" project that focussed on safe and healthy relationships for women with disabilities in the Penrith (Sydney) area. The Western Sydney Area Assistance Scheme (WSAAS), auspiced by Penrith Women's Health Centre, ran the project from 2004 - 07. The report defines domestic and family violence for women with intellectual disabilities as including violence perpetrated by carers, extended family, neighbours or others with whom the victim may come into contact. It provides resources for good practice in this area. Discussion: The report begins by outlining the objectives, program areas, barriers and outcomes of the project. The objectives were to: In order to achieve these aims, the project established a steering committee, involved women with intellectual disability in the project, conducted a literature search and promoted the project and community development on the issues. A range of specific program areas were developed, including: The report discusses recommendations arising from the report, including funding, education, data collection and professional development. These recommendations cover institutions such as NSW Police, State and Federal Government departments, tertiary education institutions, service providers and stakeholders. The report describes the background to the project and the concepts and discusses the philosophy underpinning the project. The report goes on to describe the strategies and delivery of programs, including their design, training and evaluation. The report describes barriers to project implementation and discusses the evaluation and immediate and broader outcomes of the program.
