Notes:  Overview: This is a briefing paper from the United States examining the links between interpersonal violence and adolescent pregnancy. The paper was prepared for practitioners, policy makers, advocates and others. The findings in the report are based on a literature review and interviews with experts.

The implications of this knowledge and understanding for practice, programs and intervention are explored in the second section of the paper. The paper explores issues of resourcing, education, health services, service provision, as well as the barriers to effective intervention. The paper discusses the opportunities and challenges for policy development and the implications of current policy. Policy areas covered include health, education (including abstinence focussed sex education), welfare and homelessness, as well as training for health professionals, teachers and service providers. Finally, possible steps and initiatives for the future are outlined.
