Notes:	This document outlines the Victorian Government’s response to implementing the third stage of the Framework for the development of the Victorian Indigenous Family Violence Strategy, a partnership approach between Indigenous communities and government. The 2002 Framework Strategy, which comprised a 3-stage process to develop and implement an Indigenous Family Violence Strategy, is explained. It includes Holistic Family Healing Centres to help prevent, reduce and respond to Indigenous family violence. A Family Violence Division will also be created in the Magistrates’ court. An Indigenous Family Violence Partnership Forum will be established to oversee the development and implementation of a 10-year agreement between the Government and Indigenous communities. A set of principles underpinning the development of an Indigenous Family Violence Strategy is provided, which includes safety and security for victims of violence as the number one priority; and introducing structural changes to Court processes so that more support is given to victims. Definition and description of what is Indigenous family violence is given. Summary flow chart diagrams of the process to develop and implement the Indigenous Family Violence Plan, and to explain the partnership forum process, are provided. A range of other government initiatives is also briefly described.
