Notes:  This report outlines structures and practices that are critical in maintaining a quality programme for men who are violent towards their female partners, through a national audit and review of interventions and of 'parallel' programmes for women, children and men. Findings are based on literature review, surveys, stakeholder interviews and case studies.

Some of the key findings include: that successful integrated programmes which incorporate work with men are characterised by: a decentred approach to work with men such that programmes for men who use violence form one component of the integrated approach to stopping domestic violence; key stakeholders are women's domestic violence service, courts, police, corrections and child protection; involvement by a wide base of organisations beyond the key stakeholders; formalised Memorandums of Understanding protocols and procedures; a central coordinating agency with leadership; established decision making structures at the management and programme provider levels with responsibility for the development and evaluation of the integrated programme; and a committed funding body.
