Notes: | Provides a brief introduction to the Darebin Family Violence Strategy (DFVS) and draws upon the findings of the Rapid Health Impact Assessment workshop to assess the potential impact of the DFVS on the health of the community and individuals in the City of Darebin. The definition, processes and purposes of a Health Impact Assessment are discussed and the key recommendations developed in response to the workshop are presented. A rationale for the recommendations, based on discussions that occurred in the course of the workshop is then provided and the long term impact and sustainability of the project, as it relates to health outcomes, is considered. The appendix summarises the findings of the research under the headings of women, children, men, community, service providers and government responses, with a separate summary of issues relating to Indigenous family violence. |
