Notes:  Provides an evaluation and critique of the use, impact and implementation of the Protection from Abuse (Scotland) Act 2001, a legislative scheme that commenced in Scotland in February, 2002 and was essentially aimed at clarifying the roles and procedures of various agencies involved in domestic violence intervention, prevention and prosecution. Chapter 1 provides a background to the legislation and the study, while the methodology, aims and objectives are presented in Chapter 2. Chapters 3 – 7 provide detailed analyses of the findings of the study and the ways in which data obtained prior to and after the introduction of the Act were compared. Conclusions of the study and recommendations for future research, policy and legislative development are presented in Chapter 8.
