Notes:  Developed to inform practitioners about current initiatives being undertaken in Victoria directed at achieving a more integrated response to domestic violence, this paper provides a background to the violence against women movement and a comprehensive review of the literature documenting national and international coordination strategies. Some key principles guiding service delivery across agencies are identified and several of the practical and/or systemic barriers to achieving an integrated response to domestic violence are discussed. The pivotal role of interagency networking and the importance of a coordinating body's capacity to develop, implement and evaluate new policy are also addressed.
