Notes:  Presents the methodology and key findings of a study aimed at estimating the prevalence of domestic violence in the London Borough of Hackney, U.K., and approximating the economic and social costs associated with domestic violence in the same community. The findings of the study are discussed in terms of how domestic violence is defined, its prevalence according to agency records, the impact of domestic violence on children, costs of service delivery to victims and the kinds of injuries reported by women.
