Notes:  "August 1986".
Research conducted by Allison Wallace provides an analysis of data collected concerning homicide offences in NSW between 1968 and 1981. The research was one of the first of its kind to explore data and provide discussion about the incidence of homicide in intimate relationships within the Australian context. Highlights that women are particularly vulnerable in spouse killings. Attention is given to analysis of data in cases of domestic homicide, especially the nature of the marital conflict and the events leading up to the killings. Includes data on women killed after leaving, and in the process of leaving, their partners. Asserts that men and women kill spouses in response to very different sets of pressures and considerations. Concludes with a clear message that domestic violence should be treated seriously as it has the highest potential for lethal violence.
