Notes:	Sets out the strategic framework and action plan developed as a result of the CEAVAW project, a government-based initiative aimed at enhancing coordination of services, addressing gaps and duplication in service delivery and developing new statewide policy directions in the context of violence against women. The strategic framework outlines the purpose of the report and the principles guiding the government’s policy development. The policy statement contains a brief background to some of the major issues arising in this area, highlighting the particular disadvantages faced by a range of minority groups. Protocols for each of the departments involved are provided, and their rights and responsibilities explained. The action plan for 2002-2005, addressing the 4 key areas of prevention and community education, development of links between services, legal/court assistance and policy/planning issues is then set out, along with the roles and responsibilities of relevant departments in its implementation.
