Notes:  Provides a summary of the range of opinions and responses that emerged from responses to the 'Interim Position Paper on Programs for Perpetrators of Domestic Violence'. It suggests that there was disagreement on the role of the NSW Government in supporting and funding perpetrator programmes, the location of programmes and the effectiveness of perpetrator programmes. States there was clear agreement on several major issues including: strong support for guidelines and standards for perpetrator programmes; victim safety as the priority of any perpetrator programme; funding for perpetrator programmes should not diminish funding for victims services; and that perpetrator programmes should not be used as an alternative to the criminal justice system.
