Notes: | Reports the methodology and outcomes of an evaluation of the women’s programmes, components of Adelaide’s two Violence Intervention Programs: Central and Northern VIP. The VIPs are integrated, collaborative and co-ordinated interagency responses which include the criminal justice system and which promote the safety of women and children and challenge men’s use of violence against women and children. Provides detailed data on outcomes including women’s perceptions of safety and attribution of responsibility for the abuse. The outcomes demonstrate the effectiveness of the women’s programmes, including the court support component offered by the CVIP, in relation to the core principles of safety, responsibility, respect and empowerment. They highlight the need to adequately resource this component of the VIPs, which are reaching many women who are not otherwise accessing services. Concludes with recommendations for service development. |
