Notes:  The result of a research consultancy commissioned by the Women’s Policy Unit and conducted by the Sunshine Coast Interagency Research Group. The project obtained quantitative and qualitative data on the costs of violence against women as an input into the policy and programme development process. The report examines the economic, social and human costs generated by the perpetration of rape, sexual assault and domestic violence against the fifty women interviewed for the study. The study used a retrospective case study approach based on a selection of cases across each form of violence using a survey completed in a one-to-one interview.
