Authors: | Kelly, Liz Sen, Purna |
Keywords: | Human rights;Refugee communities;Sexual assault;Cross-cultural |

Notes: | The UK report addresses the Convention on the Elimination of all forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW). It suggests that the UK government is failing to meet standards of human rights protection and promotion with respect to women. It considers all gender-based violence to be connected as part of the international human rights framework. It is particularly concerned about women who suffer multiple forms of violence including disabled women, refugee and asylum-seeking women, immigrant women, and young girls. It finds that the separation of forms of gender-based violence in current policy means the complex needs of such women are rarely addressed. |
