Notes:  This literature review was written in conjunction with a “Domestic and Family Violence Resource for the AOD Sector” project funded by the Australian Government Department of Families, Housing, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs’ (FaHCSIA). It looks at the links between alcohol and other drug (AOD) use, and domestic and family violence; examines the impact of problematic alcohol and other drug (AOD) use on child abuse and neglect; and discusses ways for AOD services to improve their work with clients experiencing domestic violence. The authors also identify the need for greater collaboration between the AOD sector, and the family and domestic violence sector to improve outcomes for clients with complex needs.
