Notes:  See related summary brief of this report, titled ‘Missing persons in Australia’ , in our Research & Resources database.
This report updates existing information on missing persons across Australia from 2005-06 data, a literature review, stakeholder interviews, and a national roundtable. The purpose of the research was to identify at-risk groups; identify good practice for preventative, early intervention, and support services; improve the coordinated response; and progress future research. As domestic violence, family conflict, child abuse and neglect are specific risk factors for young people who go missing, the report includes discussion and recommendations related to family violence and child protection services and polices.
