Notes:	General Overview: This report maps the availability and accessibility of specialist domestic and sexual violence services across England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland, and concludes that current access to service provision depends on where women live in the United Kingdom. Discussion: The authors of this report provide a visual representation of the 'postcode lottery' faced by women experiencing domestic and sexual violence, in terms of their access to specialist services across the UK. The authors begin by providing an overview of the current global and local policy contexts, including the Gender Equality Duty adopted by the UK government, and highlighting the nature and importance of specialist domestic and sexual violence services in supporting women. They then provide graphical data on the availability of domestic violence services (including refuges, black and minority ethnic specialist services, perpetrator programs and specialist domestic violence courts) and sexual violence services (including rape crisis centres, sexual assault referral centres and prostitution and trafficking services) by local government areas. The authors conclude with two city-based case studies that document differences in individual and economic outcomes in areas where women do and do not have access to specialised domestic and sexual violence services. The key recommendation of the report is that governments and local authorities must ensure consistent national coverage and funding of specialised support services for women experiencing domestic and sexual violence.
