Notes:  Overview: This Canadian report presents and critiques a framework for a comprehensive approach to family violence in British Columbia. Eight critical components of an effective specialised justice system approach are discussed and cross-referenced throughout the report:

Recommended actions are presented with a rationale provided for each, based on results from Canadian domestic violence research and statistics, and the evaluation of a 2003 report that reviewed federal, provincial and territorial spousal abuse legislation and policies across Canada. The paper also recommends action plans and policies to ensure the successful implementation of the eight components throughout British Columbia.
