Notes:	Overview: This New Zealand report documents a project which aimed to ascertain the factors that may increase the risk of neglect and abuse of older people, and to examine factors which may protect or prevent the re-occurrence of abuse or neglect. A range of older people, health professionals, service providers and representatives of ethnic groups and regions were sampled for qualitative information. Data were collected through face to face, telephone and focus group interviews. The report presents the results of the project in detail. The report provides data in tabular and textual form, excerpts from interviews, and analysis in the context of policy, practice and social factors. Cultural contexts of abuse and neglect are discussed and the limitations of the research outlined. The report concludes by providing recommendations for action and further research.
