In telling their stories, which are both positive and difficult, these women clearly identify the gaps and barriers as well as the supports and processes that determine a woman's experience of the justice system. Importantly, the reports draw on the particular challenges for the women accessing the justice system in rural and regional areas of Victoria. They reinforce the need to listen to what women want as outcomes from the processes. Listening and learning from these varied experiences is pivotal to developing a better and more responsive system."
