Training video developed in response to the lack of culturally appropriate materials about child protection and family violence for Aboriginal communities. It provides a springboard for discussion about the serious impact of family violence on women, children, families and communities. At a card game, Janet talks to her friend Gwen about what's happening at home. Janet begins to talk about the dilemmas she is facing and how she feels trapped by Mike's abuse. Her fear and growing concern about what Mike's violence is doing to the children are portrayed. Aboriginal men and women are seen working together to keep Janet and the children safe. The video is accompanied by a booklet of information and ideas about how to use the video.
