Abstract:	"The Prevention of Family Violence Bill 2018 (the Bill) was introduced to the Victorian Parliament on 20 June 2018. On the 9 August 2018, the Bill passed the Legislative Assembly (Lower House) before passing the Legislative Council (Upper House) on 23 August 2018. The Legislative Assembly agreed to a minor amendment made by the Legislative Council on 5 September 2018, effectively enshrining in law Respect Victoria – Victoria's first agency dedicated to the prevention of family violence."
