Abstract:  This research snapshot sets out key findings of an evaluation of Australia’s first National Plan to Respond to the Abuse of Older Australians (Elder Abuse) 2019–2023. The National Plan was established jointly by Commonwealth, state and territory governments, identifying key priority actions for preventing and responding to the abuse of older people in Australia. The evaluation focused on several issues, including the effectiveness of the National Plan in increasing focus on preventing and responding to elder abuse, the appropriateness of the National Plan's duration, and the achievement of its priority areas.
