Abstract: | This report outlines the best practice principles for engaging individuals with lived and living experience of domestic, family, and sexual violence (DFSV) in Australia. Developed through consultations with over 123 individuals, including survivors and professionals within the women's safety sector, the framework emphasises the importance of inclusive, accessible, and culturally safe engagement practices. The report highlights the need for a multi-layered approach to engagement, which includes providing diverse and safe avenues for participation, ensuring anonymity when requested, and building trusting relationships over time. The principles aim to extend the diversity of voices that inform service delivery and policy-making, with a particular focus on supporting those who may face barriers to engagement. |
