dc.description.abstract | This report investigates the prevalence of workplace exploitation and sexual harassment among migrant women on temporary visas in Australia. Drawing on over 3,000 survey responses and 80 interviews, it identifies the intersecting challenges of insecure migration status, precarious work, and systemic discrimination. Key findings reveal that 51% of participants experienced workplace sexual harassment, with the highest rates reported in the construction and horticulture industries. The report highlights barriers to reporting, including fears related to visa status and employment security, and outlines recommendations for systemic reforms. These include the establishment of migrant worker centres, visa protections, multilingual reporting mechanisms, and culturally tailored education and training programs to empower migrant women and enhance workplace safety. | en_US |
